VIT 027 COMADRE "COLD RAIN" 7"
This is the newest 7" release from Comadre. This is running up to the release of their newest full length "Comadre" in Jan 2013. This has one song off the LP and two separate songs, hinting at what is coming and the musical direction of the next release. This is a good record, and i think a lot of people will be stoked/pleasantly surprised at where all of this is going.
VIT 026 GHOSTLIMB "CONFLUENCE" LP
This record is the second in a trilogy from Ghostlimb, starting with last year's "Infrastructure" LP. As a whole, this is the 5th ghostlimb release to date. Confluence takes up where this leaves off and moves the discourse about varying scrutinized topics along with bravado and jerkiness. This Lp has 11 new songs, ranging from regional politics, those piece of shit kids you grew up with, political theory, and ecology. Also featured is a cover of Hot Water Music's "Southeast First". In a never ending effort to die from stress related mortality issues, this record comes out a few months shy of a year after Infrastructure, with a pretty awesome Euro tour between. This LP is die-cut with a printed dust sleeve and heavy cardstock. Digital downloads will be included as well as explanations for all of the lyrical content.
VIT 025 GRAF ORLOCK "LOS ANGELES" 7"
This is the most mind-numbing incarnation of Gorlock, true to form, and a rigid adherence to the annoying doctrine of cinemagrind, this 7" rages through four tracks in 10 minutes (curiously the same running time as the 6 Doombox tracks). Complete with requisite "source information", these songs are faster, more complete, and believe it or not, more pissed. This EP ventures further into the "character study" of Los Angeles, focusing on themes as diverse as stilted relationships, getting robbed, and shooting the shit out of downtown for 11 unimpeded minutes, while simultaneously encapsulating the disgusting culture of the mid-90s.This comes with an insert featuring lyrics and some great artwork courtesy Alan Hunter. There are 600 copies of this bastard, broken down into three different covers. The covers will have actual me-shot bullets holes in them, so technically, each is a 1/1 because even though i have ridiculously accurate and tight firing patterns, no two are the same. For you wieners trolling discogs, they are all black vinyl.
VIT023 BIRDS IN ROW "COLLECTED" LP
This is the collected 12" of the Rise of the Phoenix and Cottbus releases. Awesome record from this French trio with a die-cut cover and printed innersleeve.(4 pts)
VIT021 TRAINWRECK “IF THERE IS LIGHT IT WILL FIND YOU” 12” EP
From many parts of Germany, Trainwreck have been going strong for the last 5 years, bringing all of their parts intensity, guitar flair, and emotion into this new 6 song EP. Heavy, melodic, a little bit evil, this is rad. Jacket is die-cut and completely screenprinted, also includes a digital download card. (4pts)
VIT020 GRIEVER “INFERIOR” 10” GATEFOLD
Griever hail from San Diego, CA, featuring ex-members of Lewd Acts. This project focuses more on melody, guitar, and straight up dialed tone. Reminiscent of parts Jesu and melodicism of Dave Bazan, this 4 songs EP rips the shit. Check it out. Full color inner gatefold, spot varnish outer jacket.
VIT019 TEMPEST "SOLACE" 7"
Heavy, dischordant hardcore from Vancouver, BC. This 7" has a nice glued jacket and two cohesive songs running the gammut of One Eyed God Prophecy, Union of Uranus, and a heavy tinge of blacked Euro sound.
VIT018 REIVERS “SCHEMATA” 7”
Punk from Oakland, Ca featuring members of Graf Orlock and Acts of Sedition. More in the rocky-hardcore groove that grind, Reivers deliver 6 songs on this 7” study in brevity. Female fronted pissed as hell. 7” comes with screen printed cover and stamped record labels.
VIT017 ANDREW BONAZELLI “THE DREAMT AND DEATHLESS OBSCENE” BOOK
The summer of ’75. The world struggles to endure an affliction that has transformed half its citizenry into frenzied deviants. Major metropolitan areas have been (poorly) quarantined, as the afflicted—and their even more depraved counterparts, the unsound—roam freely. In Philadelphia, a cultish grassroots organization aims to salvage some shred of humanity until a cure is discovered, but its motivations are dubious. No solution is in sight. It’s unclear as to whether anybody even cares anymore. The Gall family is among the countless irreparably marred by the phenomenon, from embittered patriarch Walter to his sons, one an emotionally absent narcissist, the other foolishly entertaining a pregnancy with his afflicted fiancée. Trapped in a protracted purgatorial transition between societies, the Galls have no recourse but to persevere. Whether that means investigating the malady’s legitimacy, fixating on old regrets or succumbing to gruesome indulgence, all fail to recognize that the differences between their past and lurid present are negligible.
VIT016 GHOSTLIMB “INFRASTRUCTURE” LP+DD
This is the third LP from Ghostlimb and probably the most defined at what we are actually trying to get across/done. Lots of thrashing, melody, and pissed. This has 12 songs and an included digital download card. The jacket is die-cut (see image), with a printed innersleeve, and an embossed back, all on nice 350 gsm cardstock.
VIT015 BIRDS IN ROW “COTTBUS” LP W/SCREENPRINT
This is the second EP from France's Birds in Row. Melodic and with a lot of momentum, this record is an expansion on their earlier 7" Rise of the Phoenix. All of the jackets are screen printed and hand numbered, folded, and nice. The LP itself is one sided with a screenprint of the cover on the backside. There aren't too many of these, so pick it up while you can.
VIT014 GHOSTLIMB “BEARING & DISTANCE” CD
This CD contains both the Bearing and Distance LP songs as well as the 4 songs on the ghostlimb/zann/perth express/trainwreck 4 way split LP. 14 songs in all, this one is perfect for your police academy workout routine, kids listening to ipods in the car while their detached parents try to chat with them about their day, or any long stretch of potential jail time.
VIT013 GRAF ORLOCK “DOOMBOX” 10”+TRILOGY CD
featuring a 10" worth of new material based on the complexities of urban disparity, and a cd containing the Doombox 10" songs plus the last three trilogy records. This, I shit you not, is 42 songs of Gorlock madness spanning the last 4 years of mindless wandering through the cinemagrind ether. If you care to look at the image, this comes in a handsome foldout boombox, completing a new staple to your bedroom feng shui, and guaranteeing that you misunderstand what this thing will really look like. The two pressings are black (150 preorders) and clear (1350 standard press).
VIT012 BUYER’S REMORSE “A THOROUGH ANALYSIS EP” 7”
This is the Buyer's Remorse "A Thorough Analysis EP" 7". Six songs with some Hot Snakes flair and LA DNA. More rock and roll than most Vitriol Releases, check this out at www.vitriolrecords.bandcamp.com.
-Coreleased with Commodity Fetish Records (who also coreleased the first Ghostlimb CD).
VIT011 EARTH CONTROL (Formerly OWEN HART) “EARTH CONTROL” LP
This record is the first full length LP from Tacoma, WA’s Earth Control. This thing is a mish-mash of brutality, covering death metal, straight up metal, and all of the best facets of hardcore. Grinding by in a mere 26 minutes, this is a pretty sweet masterpiece packaged in a black gatefold with spot varnish.
Out of Press
VIT010 DANGERS “ANGER” LP
Repress of the first Dangers full length record on Blue and Silver. Fast, pissed hardcore.
VIT009 COMADRE/GLASSES SPLIT 2X7”
Two 7" records on heavy (70-gram) vinyl with a 12-page booklet fixed to the inner spine of a gatefold cover. Split release with Bone's label Bloodtown Records.
This is Comadre's 6th release and Glasses' 2nd, with both bands following up one-sided LPs released last year. If Comadre's "A Wolf Ticket" had been a full length, these songs would have rounded out the release. Glasses delivers the most pulverising, rock 'n' roll-ing-est hardcore that has ever been played in drop-C tuning.
VIT008 FORMING S/T 7”
This is 4 songs recorded sometime this year, with what i call a mixture of archers of loaf and dino j, meeting somewhere in a drunken haze in the mid 90s. You are worse off not having this, and it adds a decidedly different and interesting tone to a label hell bent on being pigeon-holed as a shitty hardcore garbage can.
VIT007 DROWNING WITH OUR ANCHORS/MALADIE SPLIT 10”
Finally, this is the 10" Split from these bands from San Francisco and Tijuana. On the heels of their respective full lengths, this record brings a new extended song from DWOA and 3 new songs from Maladie. This contains a full color innersleeve and a double die-cut 10" jacket, and color vinyl. Check this out.
VIT006 ANDREW BONAZELLI “A REGULAR” BOOK
A morose barfly drowns his misguided affection for barely legal trollops in crossword puzzles and wells whiskey. But Murray Baron isn’t just a regular at Seattle dive haven the Kapital—he exists in the bar in perpetuity, days and weeks bleeding formlessly into one another, punctuated only by cock-crushingly banal conversation. When he finally literally unseats himself to save a friend’s life, the decision ignites a series of overlapping absurdist confrontations straight from the id of a 12-year-old. Murray’s fate seems to have been halved into either suffocating barstool inertia or outlandish hyperactive lunacy, and only a highly dubious psychic can help him revisit the pivotal adolescent event that put him in this very literal state of arrested development.
VIT005 BIRDS IN ROW “RISE OF THE PHOENIX” 7”
Awesome 7" from this French three piece. Pissed off riffs, vocals, and momentum contrary to a lot of long winded records of annoyance. Definitely worth checking out.
VIT 004 ROBOTOSAURUS “MANHATER” 10”
This is the debut full length from Adelaide, Australia's Robotosaurus, coming out on the eve of their US 2009 tour, this shit kicks up the brutal meter with a healthy does of heavy. 10 inch format, get on this.
VIT003 DANGERS “MESSY, ISN’T IT?” LP+CD
Well, here is this monstrosity. The preorders went fast and this one is the main press. There are 850 of these shits on red vinyl, packaged in a 6 fold poster with a cd affixed. All of your worst nightmares about what music could be, rolled into the sarcastic and menially insightful form of 18 songs.
VIT002 GHOSTLIMB/FISCHER 10” SPLIT
The fourth Ghostlimb release, continues on in the strain of partially informed melodic and thrashy hardcore. Fischer come across with 5 songs of Jawbreaker meets mid-90s melodic punk.
VIT001 GRAF ORLOCK “DESTINATION TIME TODAY” LP
This is the 5th Graf Orlock release, put out in Summer 2009, 13 songs of ridiculous cinema-grind mayhem. This record took on a groovy southern side of gorlock while maintaining the same insane anger.
